Sayonara Japan, Hey ya'll Southern USA!

Travel day - 30 April

To kick off the day, and recover from a hangover, my husband and I went to a local coffee shop for a delicious breakfast burrito.  Its delicious and stuffed with scrambled eggs, salsa, sausage, sweet potato and a little cheese.  Paleo? No, but it sure got rid of the hangover!!

On my layover in Narita I stopped for lunch at the Chinese restaurant in Terminal 1, North Side. I had the chicken with cashews -- its tough to find ANYTHING Paleo in the airport, so I did the best I could.  The dish was a little on the sweet side, so I'm guessing its cooked with a little sugar -- There is some debate in the Paleo community on whether or not cashews are Paleo - well, I vote they are! They are the seed of a pseudofruit (google it) so you can take my opinion for what its worth!  The dish was cooked with onions, and water chestnuts - yum yum! P.S. Water chestnuts are tubers from an aquatic plant... do you think they're paleo?

Next up was my 15 hour flight.  Thanks to good drugs, I slept the whole way consuming a bottle of water on TO and on landing.  I snacked on a bag of beef jerky as I waited for my bags in customs.

Now for the road trip - I had a two hour drive when I landed to my destination, so what to eat! I finished off the bag of beef jerky, and had a few bottles of water in the car.  I wasnt too hungry at this point, after doing nothing but sleep for the past 15 hours!

Finally at my destination!  I arrived at my hotel around 7 PM and took my time unpacking, washing off the airline scuzzy feeling and calling my family and got hungry around 9PM. Its a Saturday, so I figured I'd be fine finding food - I wanted to make a movie at 9:35, so it had to be fast! My plan was a big leafy salad from a sandwich shop, but alas, they closed at 9.  EVERYTHING closed a 9 - I couldn't believe it!! Now what?  I guess I could have eaten another bag of beef jerky I had in the car, but I wasn't feelin that.  I decided to throw Paleo to the wind and have some Chik-fil-a.  A WI girl only makes it to the south once a year, so WTH, right?  I had some chicken nuggets, and a sweet tea - - rode the sugar high through the movie, and almost fell asleep on the drive home!

Not my best paleo day, but we'll see how the rest of the six weeks go!
